Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

Yes. Insurance is unique to every client. If you would like to schedule a consultation, we would love to discuss this with you.

I'm not pregnant, can I still come to you for care?

Yes! Midwives are trained for well-woman care. Midwives can act as your primary care provider if you are a generally healthy person. They can prescribe medications, and order and interpret labs and ultrasounds.

Do you have privileges at a hospital?

Yes! Our midwives have privileges at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, Nyack Hospital in Nyack, NY, and Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, NJ. Most deliveries will be at the Birth Center, however, if complications arise, urgent or nonurgent, we will be able to provide care at one of these hospitals.

Do you have a consulting physician?

Yes! We work very closely with Dr. Victor Rosenberg, MD, MFM and Dr. Craig Wiener, MD, FACOG, who are available to consult should the need arise. We also have an established relationship with Westchester Medical Center’s perinatal department, and coordinate referrals for more complex maternity or gynecological care.

What are pain relief options?

We offer several pain relief options including hydrotherapy and nitrous oxide (also known as laughing gas). We encourage preparation through childbirth education, and support from your spouse, family, doula, and of course your midwife and birth assistant will be there to support you as well.
